With the help of donations from our partners and well wishers, we have carried several activities that have impacted communities in Uganda. You can see these in the listings below as well as our blog posts at the bottom of the page.
On the 26th of March 2023, the generosity of G2SU reached new heights as a delegation visited Kaliro District. The purpose of this visit was to make a significant contribution to education by donating 100 dozens of books to St. Margaret Primary School. This act of kindness not only aimed to enrich the school’s educational resources but also to sow the seeds of knowledge and opportunity.
On 4th January 2022 the Go 2 School Initiative Uganda travelled with Elite Borehole Services to Gulu to conduct a survey of the land stipulated for borehole construction. A meeting was held with the community representatives, led by the chairman LC1, the village chief and Mr. Otim’s family(Donor of the land on which the borehole is to be constructed) to ensure that the project is embraced by the community. The chairman LC1 explained that the best place would be next to the road for easy access. Together with the community leaders, the most appropriate place to set up the borehole was identified.
On 13th January 2022, Go 2 School Initiative Uganda officiated the start of the project. On 14th January, 2022, the team from Elite Boring Services together with the community started clearing the area for construction and hand drilling the borehole water tank. In the first phase, the contractors hired manual labor from the community to assist in drilling and preparing food as well. They were able to drill up to 6 (six) feet …
On 15th January, 2022, Go 2 School Initiative Uganda (G2SU) carried out a dissemination program at Labika village, Paibona Sub County. This was to educate the community about dangers of bad hygiene practices and ways to reduce disease spread. Paibona community members honoured the invitation from Go 2 school initiative Uganda and embraced the information that was shared by the project coordinator. The community proposed ways to maintain and protect the water source for its sustainability. All the 89 households in Paibona Sub county were represented that day.
On 18th January 2022, G2SU team led by the director Mr Shangi, travelled to Labika village Paibona Parish, to check on the progress of the project.
